Does Ezvid crash a lot?
Er, yes. Generally when it crashes it will not lose your work, but not always.
I’m writing this page not just to complain, however. Instead, I want to see if I can come up with a sure-fire troubleshooting list that can deal with most common Ezvid crashes.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS IF U ARE HAVING CRASHES AND BUGS WITH EZVID
- Reinstall ezvid from ezvid.com. I’ve been surprised how many times this has solved all kinds of problems.
- Restart your computer.
- Run Windows Update
DO THIS IF U SEE A BLACK SCREEN AFTER YOU RECORD YOUR SCREEN
You need to put your game into Windowed Mode. Read more here.
DO THIS IF YOUR VIDEO IS DISTORTED ON YOUTUBE
This is undocumented on the Ezvid website. I’m not sure if it’s a secret or what, but there is some problem with Ezvid’s “HD good quality” setting. This one:
I’ve done some tests with it, and in terms of video quality, the HD Best and HD Good settings are very, very similar, except for one uncomfortable fact: about 5% of the time, the “Good” setting will results in a very nasty distorted video on YouTube. So Ezvid is sort of lying to you: There aren’t 3 quality levels – low, good, and best, instead there is one low quality setting, and two high quality settings – but about 5% of the time, the “Good” setting produces distorted muck. Very strange.
Also, the SD setting isn’t really low quality. It’s just a smaller video. It’s faster to upload and render. But if you want to get a lot of views on YouTube you’re better off choosing one of the HD settings.
